Long pulsed Nd Yag laser is a solid state laser capable of producing a near-infrared wavelength 

that penetrates deep into the skin and is readily absorbed by hemoglobin and melanin chromophores.

The lasing medium of Nd Yag laser is a man-made crystal that is pumped by a high intensity lamp 

and placed into a resonator (a cavity capable of amplifying the power of the laser). By creating a  

variable long pulse duration and an appropriate spot size, it is possible to significantly heat deep 

skin tissues, such as large blood vessels and vascular lesions. Meantime the laser could heat the 

deep hair follicles while not damage the superfacial skin tissue, so it’s a most ideal choice for dark 

skin, especially the type IV-VI.

1.What is the Long Pulsed Nd: YAG?

The long pulsed Nd:Yag has also been successful in treating common skin conditions. It would also 

be anticipated that significantly fewer instances of crusting, blistering, pigmentation problems and 

other adverse epidermal effects would occur with 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser irradiation.


2.How long is the treatment takes?
Depending on the condition treated, the treatment will take 10-20 minutes.

3.How many treatments will I need?

The long pulsed Nd: YAG laser is a quick and painless way to treat the above skin conditions. Depending 

on the severity of the skin condition, and depending different indications, usually 1 to 2 treatment sessions 

are needed 4 -8 weeks apart.


4.When will I see results?

Results are not noticeable immediately following treatment. For nail fungus, as your nail grows out, the 

new nail growth should be clear.

Toe nails grow slowly especially nails infected with fungus. So, it may take 6-12 months for your toenail 

to clear.

For other conditions , the final result is usually observed after 2 to 4 weeks when the skin has fully healed.
For veins, it may take up to 8 weeks to see a result.
